The American State Bank of Detroit is a Michigan hanking corporation. The First Wayne National Bank of Detroit, a national banking corporation, is a consolidation of Peoples Wayne County Bank and First National Bank of Detroit and possesses all the property and rights of the consolidated banks. To some extent the corporate names of the First Wayne National Bank and of the Peoples Wayne County Bank will be used herein as being interchangeable; and for brevity we will, as a rule, refer to the respective banks as the American bank, the Wayne bank and the Peoples bank.
