This multi-party litigation began as a suit on a debt. After the underlying litigation was settled, all that remained of the case was the pending cross claim by the co-debtors, Hugh Karnes and Dorothy Karnes, the appellants here, against appellee Trumbo Equipment, Inc., and the Karnes’ third-party complaint against appellee A.H. Trumbo. In both claims the Karnes sought reimbursement for the attorney’s fees they incurred in defending the suit on the debt and in pursuing their claims for indemnity.
