The uncontradicted evidence establishes, that when the defendant found his business in a precarious condition, and himself confronted with grave possibility of bankruptcy, he called upon the Adjustment Bureau Portland Association of Credit Men at the suggestion of a friend. Here he explained in full his financial condition to a Mr. Ingram, manager of the Bureau; the latter’s advice was that the defendant should authorize the Bureau to issue a call for a meeting of his creditors.
