Clara Royal was injured in a flash fire in the kitchen of her employer, a nightclub in Cordele. She brought suit against a propane distributor, Ferrellgas, Inc., and its related companies, Ferrellgas, L.P. and Ferrellgas Partners, L.P. (collectively Ferrellgas), and against Phillips Electric, Inc., a business that sold and installed a propane stove in the kitchen several months before the fire.
