Sims Printing Company, a corporation, hereinafter called plaintiff, brought suit against James H. Kerby, hereinafter called defendant, and Maryland Casualty Company, a corporate surety company, hereinafter called surety, to recover the sum of $1,846.20, being the amount expended by plaintiff in connection with a certain contract entered into by it with defendant in his official capacity as Secretary of State of the state of Arizona.
