This matter is before the Court on the motion of defendants UMG Recordings, Inc. (“UMG” or “Universal”) and Atlantic Recording Corporation (“Atlantic”) to dismiss the amended complaint under Rule 12(b)(6) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure for failure to state a claim. 1 Plaintiffs, proceeding pro se, assert a number of claims against approximately 45 named defendants, ranging from major recording companies, and their chairmen and boards of directors, to high profile recording artists.
