This case commenced in tbe District Court of Ramsey County, was tried by a referee, who found and reported, “That on tbe 24th day of September, 1852, at G-osben, in tbe State of New York, tbe place of residence of tbe plaintiff, tbe plaintiff placed in tbe bands of tbe defendant, a resident of St. Paul, in this State, the sum of seven hundred dollars, which money tbe defendant was to loan out and keep at interest in tbe State of Minnesota, for and on behalf of tbe plaintiff, and as her agent in this behalf, in such manner as tbe defendant would deem most secure, so…
