{¶ 1} Appellant, Juba A. Ali, was indicted on two counts of rape, as well as counts of gross sexual imposition, kidnapping, and carrying a concealed weapon. Following a trial, a jury found Ali guilty of gross sexual imposition and not guilty of carrying a concealed weapon. The jury could not reach a verdict on the remaining counts. The Summit County Court of Common Pleas sentenced Ali to 18 months in prison on his conviction for gross sexual imposition and adjudicated Ali to be a sexual predator.
