Mrs. Ora P. Scruggs, the appellee, filed her original bill in the Circuit Court of Buckingham county in which she sets forth that she was seized and possessed, in fee simple, of a tract of land containing four hundred and twenty-one acres, situated in James River magisterial district, which land was acquired by inheritance from her father; that she had borrowed from the Merchants and Planters National Bank of Dillwyn, Virginia, the sum of twenty-five hundred dollars, which debt was evidenced by two negotiable notes for the *169sums of $1,500 and $1,000, respectively, and secured by two deeds of…
