The complaint alleged that the plaintiff, a member of the Connecticut National Guard, while in the line of duty was thrown from his horse and suffered a fracture of both bones of his left leg; that the defendant, a physician and surgeon, undertook to reduce the fracture and heal the leg, and that as a result of his negligent treatment the plaintiff suffered the injuries for which he seeks to recover.
