Plaintiff Donald Nickels appeals from the circuit court’s order granting defendant Christine Reid’s (Reid’s) motion to dismiss plaintiff’s second amended complaint pursuant to section 2 — 619 of the Illinois Code of Civil Procedure (Code) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1991, ch. 110, par. 2 — 619 (now 735 ILCS 5/2 — 619 (West 1992))).
