Defendant was charged with assault with intent to commit murder in violation of MCL 750.83; MSA 28.278 and felony-firearm in violation of MCL 750.227b; MSA 28.424(2). On February 13, 1981, he was convicted of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder in violation of MCL 750.84; MSA 28.279 and felony-firearm. He was sentenced to serve a term of four to ten years in prison on the assault conviction and to the mandatory two years in prison on the felony-firearm conviction. Defendant appeals his convictions as of right.
