Eugene Leonard Wright was indicted by a Chatham County grand jury for aggravated assault with a handgun, aggravated assault with a knife, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was also charged as a recidivist under OCGA § 17-10-7. He was acquitted of aggravated assault with a handgun and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon but convicted of the remaining charges.
