Plaintiff Edmund Cohen, a present shareholder of Universal, Inc., has brought suit against Uniroyal and Haskins & Sells, certified public accountants and Uniroyal’s auditors, alleging that defendants have violated Section 10(b) and Rule 10b-5 of the 1934 Securities and Exchange Act.1 Plaintiff has moved pursuant to Fed.R.Civ.P. 23 for certification as a class of “ . . . all who purchased Uniroyal securities who sustained loss between December 1, 1972 and November 15, 1975, with the exception of defendants named in the Complaint.”…
