The plaintiff, Federal Financial Co., an Illinois general partnership, is the assignee of a promissory note which was formerly held by the Resolution Trust Corporation (hereinafter the RTC) in its capacity as receiver for a Federally insured bank. At issue on appeal is whether the plaintiff, as assignee, is entitled to benefit from the Federal Statute of Limitations which applies to the RTC when seeking to enforce its right to collect a debt.
