Plaintiffs entered into a contract with the defendant on March 22, 1929, to “furnish labor and materials, and perform all work required for tunnel, canal lining and structures, as described in Schedule No. 3 of Specifications No. *174484, North. Branch Canal, Yakima (Kittitas Division) Project — Washington,” for a consideration of $345,878.25, the work to commence within 30 calendar days after date of receipt of notice to proceed and to be completed within 600 calendar days from that date.
