The conviction is for murder; the punishment, life.. The appellant was charged with killing-Cornelia (Connie) Williams on or about April 18, 1963, by shooting her with a gun. Connie Williams was the wife of Curtis. (Bennie) Williams, with whom the appellant had been intimate during their visits-of two or three times a week for a period of' about ten months before the death of Connie Williams.
