SULLIVAN, Chief Judge:
During April 1989, appellant was tried by a general court-martial at Hurlburt Field, Florida. Contrary to his pleas, he was found guilty of assaulting Airman First Class Kevin Kobylski with a force likely to produce grievous bodily harm,1 in violation of Article 128(b)(1), Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 928(b)(1). He was sentenced to a bad-conduct discharge, confinement and forfeiture of $350 pay per month for 6 months, and reduction to airman basic.
