Indicted for several crimes arising out of an assault on a woman in Watertown in January, 1984, the defendant appeals from the denial of his pretrial motion to suppress the woman’s in-court and out-of-court identifications of him. See Mass. R. Grim. P. 15 (b) (2), 378 Mass. 882 (1979). The victim first identified the defendant as the man who had assaulted her when, on April 20, 1984, she selected his picture from a photographic array at the Watertown police station.
