The “Board of Levee Commissioners of the Orleans Levee District” is a body politic, with corporate powers created under the terms of Act No. 93, p. 95, of the General Assembly of the State of Louisiana for the .year 1890, and charged with the construction, repair, control, and maintenance of all levees in the Orleans levee district; said district comprising the whole of the parish of Orleans.
