Miles F. Liska, guardian of the estate of John Liska, a minor, brought an action of trespass on the case against the Chicago Railways Company, the Chicago City Railway Company, the Calumet and South Chicago Railway Company and the Southern Street Railway Company, operating-under the name and style of Chicago Surface Lines, to recover damages for personal injuries suffered by John Liska, aged three years and five months.
