OPINION

COOK, Judge:

We are asked to decide whether the Government retained jurisdiction over the accused after the expiration of his term of enlistment. 10 M.J. 251. The military judge found it did; we agree and affirm.

It is important at the outset to point out that this Court has only limited authority in this area. We cannot independently assess the credibility of witnesses or attach more or less weight to particular items of evidence, as our personal conviction dictates. We can only inquire whether as a matter of law evidence of record and the inferences that can properly be drawn therefrom…
