After a jury trial in the Circuit Court of Jackson County, the appellant, Dennis Hy-man, was convicted of one count of forcible rape (thirty years), one count of forcible sodomy (fifteen years), one count of kidnapping (fifteen years), one count of class B felony sexual abuse (fifteen years) and four counts of armed criminal action (five years each). Appellant was sentenced as a prior and persistent offender and a persistent sexual offender to a total of eighty years imprisonment. (Some sentences were to run concurrent to others.)
