This is a suit brought by the respondent, M. G. W. Kennard (the plaintiff below), as the landlord, against the appellant, Wilton McCrory (the defendant below), as the purchaser of three bales of cotton from Ollie Brown, respondent’s tenant. Ollie Brown is not a party to the suit.
The suit was instituted by the respondent in the Circuit Court of Pemiscot County, on the 18th day of January, 1938. It seeks to recover two items, to-wit: $34.60 as rent; and $92.77 for money or supplies furnished to the tenant to enable her to raise and harvest the crop, or to subsist while carrying out her contract…
