Individuals implanted with the Bjork-Shi-ley eonvexo/coneave heart valve brought this product liability action against the valve’s manufacturer, Shiley, Inc., and its parent company, Pfizer, Inc., alleging that the valve has design and manufacture defects which renders it hazardous to individuals in whom it has been implanted.
