The respondents claim that, assuming the validity of the patent, there is not sufficient evidence of infringement. The only proof offered comes from the respondents a,nd their agent; and, to be sure, it is very general and far from *376specific. Tbe answer, however, admits that a portion of the goods sold by respondents was “fabric alleged by the complainant to be such as is described and claimed in said letters patent.” This expression is, to be sure, obscure, and on a strict criticism might, perhaps, he held not to be responsive; but, if any pleader is content to express…
