MEMORANDUM
GEORGE C. PAINE, II, Bankruptcy Judge.
This matter is before the court on the debtor Ray Ell Williams’ application to amend his bankruptcy schedules for the purpose of electing the federal rather than the state exemptions. The trustee has objected to the debtor’s proposed amendment, essentially contending that the amendment was not timely filed.
