¶ 1. Ronnie Lee Winters appeals from a judgment entered after a jury found him guilty of first-degree reckless homicide, contrary to Wis. Stat. § 940.02(1) (2005-06). He also appeals from an order denying his postconviction motion. Winters raises two claims of error: (1) the trial court erroneously exercised its discretion when it denied Winters's request to testify on his own behalf the day after he had waived that right; and (2) the trial court erred in summarily denying his claim that trial counsel did not provide him with effective assistance; he contends the trial court should have held…
