This lawsuit began when Ashot Egiazaryan sued Peter Zalmayev for defamation and injurious falsehood. In a counterclaim, Zalmayev alleged that the suit was a “strategic lawsuit against public participation” in violation of N.Y. Civ. Rights Law §§ 70-a, 76-a (the “anti-SLAPP” statute), and also asserted a defamation claim. Following rulings on the parties’ motions to dismiss, the only remaining claim in this lawsuit is Zalmayev’s anti-SLAPP counterclaim against Egiazaryan. See Egiazaryan v.
