Defendant Todd Stinnett was charged by information filed in the circuit court of Adams County on January 2, 1987, with possession with intent to deliver cannabis. He was released on bond and filed a motion for a speedy trial pursuant to section 103 — 5 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 on January 8, 1987. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 103 — 5.)
