On April 5, 1988, the Court of Appeals of Virginia reversed the conviction of the appellant, Jaime Traverso, for the murder of his wife because of the Commonwealth’s failure to prove territorial jurisdiction over the offense. Traverso v. Commonwealth, 6 Va.App. 172, 366 S.E.2d 719 (1988). The case was then presented to a grand jury sitting in Prince George’s County, which on August 9, 1988 indicted appellant for the murder of his wife.
