Defendant was indicted for first degree robbery and, following a jury trial, was convicted of robbery in the second degree.1 He appeals contending that the trial court erred in admitting certain evidence.

The charges arose out of the reported robbery of a service station in Glendale, Oregon. The attendant testified that at approximately 6:20 p.m. on November 21, 1975, two men, riding in an old black Pontiac automobile, entered the station and ordered oil and gasoline.
