The Baldwin School, a private school, was sued in March 1997 by parents trying to block their son’s indefinite suspension from school for repeated disciplinary violations. The suit was brought under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990(ADA), 42 U.S.C. § 12182 et seq., the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, 29 U.S.C. § 701 et seq., and Puerto Rican law.
