Stephen Upshaw, a former employee of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (“MNAA”), brought suit for wrongful discharge under state law, and for deprivation of due process and equal protection of the laws under 42 U.S.C. § 1988 and § 1985. Upshaw alleges that the elimination of his position as part of an airport reorganization was a “sham” designed to strip him of his civil-service protections and improperly terminate him without cause. The district court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendants, and Upshaw now appeals the dismissal of his § 1983 claim. We affirm the…
