Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Schenectady County (Giardino, J.), rendered February 13, 2013, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crimes of assault in the second degree and assault in the third degree.

As a result of separate but related incidents in which defendant stabbed Jolene Taylor in the leg with a knife and then, the following month, he punched her in the face and allegedly stabbed Romeo Faulkner, defendant was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree and one count of assault in the third degree.
