Horace L. Edwards was convicted in the Criminal Court of Baltimore on several charges involving violations of the narcotic laws. He was sentenced to concurrent terms of imprisonment, the two longest of which were for 12 years. On appeal, the Court of Special Appeals in Edwards v. State, 18 Md. App. 546, 284 A. 2d 10 (1971), reversed the convictions without awarding a new trial on the ground that the affidavit filed “failed to show probable cause for the issuance of the search warrant” which was the basis for the conviction.
