Defendant was convicted of aggravated murder and was sentenced to death. The case is before us for review pursuant to ORS 163.150(l)(f), which provides:

“The judgment of conviction [of aggravated murder] and sentence of death shall be subject to automatic and direct review by the Supreme Court. * * *”
