This action was brought by appellee, Ellen Jackson, joined pro forma by her husband, against appellant, to recover upon a benefit certificate issued by it to Mantón M. Parsons, brother of said appellee, she being named as beneficiary therein. The contract provided that, if insured died within one year from its date, appellant would pay $500 to the beneficiary; if within two years, $750; and if afterward, $1,000, and further that appellant would contribute $100 to a monument to be erected over the grave of insured, provided the said certificate was in force at the…
