Following an unfortunate car accident, injured pedestrian José Mejias-Aguayo filed a negligence action against the vehicle’s driver Juan Doreste-Rodriguez and Doreste’s insurance company Universal Insurance Company (“Universal”).' After a four-day jury trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the defendants.
