BACKGROUND

Like his character “The Equalizer,” plaintiff Lou Shaw has been attempting to “equalize the odds” against him in a five-year court battle that has taken him from this Court to the Ninth Circuit and back again.

Lou Shaw is a well-known writer and producer in Hollywood; defendant Richard Lindheim is an entertainment industry executive who was in the Dramatic Programming Division of NBC Television when he entered into a February, 1978…
