pThe defendant was charged with failure to renew his registration as a sex offender, a violation of La.R.S. 15:542.1.1, and failure to notify law enforcement of a change in address, residence, or other registration information, a violation of La.R.S. 15:542.1.2. A jury found the defendant guilty on both counts. Thereafter, the trial court sentenced the defendant to eight years at hard labor on each count.
