Introduction
The juvenile division of the circuit court sent the father a letter notifying him of a hearing concerning his son. The court, contrary to statute and court rule, did not serve the father with a summons and petition. The father did not appear at the hearing. After the hearing, the trial court found it had jurisdiction, entered an order of disposition in which it found that the father’s son, C.J.G., was in need of care and treatment, and took custody of the child.
