This proceeding is an inquiry into the insanity of defendant as provided in section 658 et seq. of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The People move to confirm reports of the Psychiatric Division of Kings County Hospital which find that defendant is not in such a state of idiocy, imbecility or insanity as to be incapable of understanding the charges against him, or the proceedings, or of making his defense.
