On August 22, 1914, Antonina Lewandowski died in the city of Detroit leaving a last will and testament, the validity of which is the subject of this litigation. At the time of her death she was a widow 70 years of age and had no children. Her nearest shown relatives are the children of a son of her sister and are the contestants in this case. She left an estate valued at $7,650, consisting of a house and lot on Dubois street appraised at $6,000, cash in the Central Savings Bank of Detroit amounting to $1,250 and $400 in cash.
