This case is before us on the court’s sua sponte order to appellant, Johanna Faddis, and her counsel, Kelsay Patterson, Esq., to show cause why they should not be ordered to compensate the appellees — City of Homestead, seven present or former members of the city council, and a private investigation firm — for appellate attorney fees and costs incurred by them in defending against the prosecution of a frivolous appeal of a trial court order, which awarded the appellees $166,000 as a sanction for Faddis and Patterson’s fraud on the court.
