*43The Diocese of Raleigh ("the Diocese") and Michael F. Burbidge, the Bishop of the Diocese ("Bishop Burbidge") (collectively "the Diocese Defendants") appeal from the trial court's 2 June 2014 order granting in part and denying in part their motion to dismiss pursuant to Rules 12(b)(1) and 12(b)(6) of the North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure.
