Defendant, Leroy Gardenhire, Jr., appeals the judgment entered on a jury verdict finding him guilty of two counts of first degree murder, two counts of first degree kidnapping, second degree assault, and crime of violence. We affirm.

Defendant was tried with his son, co-defendant Leroy Gardenhire III, in January 1993. Prior to trial, defendant moved to continue the trial date because the public defender who had originally been assigned would be unavailable for trial.
