Plaintiffs, husband and wife, brought a tort action against the manufacturer of a machine which injured the plaintiff husband’s left hand. The defendant was a foreign corporation located in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (hereinafter Great Britain). The complaint and summons were served upon the defendant by substituted service through the office of the Secretary of State on July 12,1979.
