Plaintiff State Trading Corporation of India, Ltd. (“STC”) appeals from orders of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut (Daly, Judge) granting the summary judgment motion of defendant Assuranceforeningen Skuld (“Skuld”) and denying STC’s motion seeking leave to amend its complaint. STC, after unsuccessfully attempting to enforce a $14 million arbitration award relating to its loss from the sinking of a cargo ship, brought this admiralty action against the shipowner’s insurer under Connecticut’s “direct action” statute, Conn.Gen.Stat. §…
