The case presents for construction the following clauses from the will of John R. Elton, deceased, which will was executed September 25th, 1888, and admitted to probate in Cumberland county, New Jersey, March 13th, 1901:
“Second. I give devise and bequeath to my niece Lizzie E. Wliitan the use of two thousand dollars during her natural life said money to be kept safely invested for her use and the interest semi-annually to be paid her *303by my executors hereafter named and at her decease the said sum u> be paid to her children.
